Philhosting.net Negative Review: The Worst Webhost in the World Wide Web!

www.mcloanpro.biz is the new and official website of Mc Loan Pro Consultancy Services.

The company decided to register a new domain after our website www.mcloanpro.com hosted by the erring Philhosting.net has been down for the whole month of December 2010! We have lost a lot of possible clients and received many complaints that our website is perennially inaccessible - all due to the very poor performance of Philhosting.net!

We have read a number of horrible reviews about Philhosting.net prior to our domain registration and personal hosting with them but our web developer (who is actually a good guy with good intentions) said this webhost's service has already improved over the years and they have been hosting some "biggies." So we went along with it, which would prove to be a very catastrophic decision.

Bad vibes started from the very beginning... as they say, trust your intuition but most of all listen to bloggers' reviews and forumers' opinions when in doubt about a product or service because more often than not, their reports are reliable especially if it's coming from quite a number of them giving the same negative rating for the same bad product or service!

Hold on for yet another scary review of how we got sucked by Philhosting.net, the most unreliable webhost not just in the Philippines but in the whole world wide web!

We paid for our domain registration and personal hosting with Philhosting.net on September 15, 2009. But see how many support tickets we have generated just to have our site activated after 2 agonizing weeks!

subjectThinking of transferring to another webhost
mailed-bygmail.com

Hi Raul,

How are you and your family? I hope all is safe after Typhoon Ondoy. I know this might not be the best time to email you my concern re my website but I will write you anyway. Just email back when you already have the time.

I am thinking of transferring to another webhost if things don't work out properly with Philhosting until next week. I know that you highly recommended Philhosting's services but I am very worried with their very bad reviews from many unsatisfied customers like me. Please check this out (copy and paste to your address bar):

http://www.webhostingstuff.com/review/PhilhostingNetPhilippineWebServices.html

and here's more http://jennyo.net/gogirlracing/?p=960

and more http://gogirlcafe.jennyo.net/2009/oohphilhosting-got-mad/

Would there be a conflict if we transfer to a new webhost? We have waited 13 days already for our domain registration and I am afraid that if we continue with Philhosting we might encounter more problems in the days to come. We might as well ask for pull out and refund then transfer to a more reliable host.

Please check it out and tell me what you think because I am not familiar with these things and I highly regard your opinion as my developer.

Regards to your family. Ingat kayo d'yan.

Yours,

Laarni

From then on, recurring downtimes for as long as 3-5 days had been a usual occurrence! Ugghh! I didn't know it could get any worse than that but believe me it did! Our website totally went offline for the whole month of December 2010!!! Until it became unsearchable, as in totally out of search engines! Ungoogleable, that is!

Here's Philhosting.net's initial explanation:

subjectServer Emergency Maintenance Notice

December 2, 2010

To all our valued clients,

Due to severe email spamming caused by other hosted accounts on our servers this past several days our server IPs are blocked all throughout the internet. Temporarily, all affected servers cannot provide connection for hosted accounts. An emergency server maintenance was in effect. In order for us to fix this is to change all server IPs. Changing of server IPs will result into 8-24 hours of server DNS propagation.

For those hosting accounts that have been traced with spamming activity, we will terminate their accounts immediately. We will report their domains to all data centers for blacklisting as well as ban their accounts here with us. We are not taking this issue lightly since it already caused too much damage on the company and on the clients side.

Our sincerest apologies to all our clients who have been affected by this problem. We will not stop until this problem is resolved.

Sincerely yours,

The Server Admin,
Philhosting Company Ltd.

But this is the biggest heist, the same day that they sent their email explaining the reason for the downtime, Philhosting.net still managed to generate us a customer invoice due for payment. Which of course we paid ahead of due time as a good customer! See, their billing system is working just fine all the time, but never their servers!

We have not received any communication from Philhosting.net since December 2, 2010. No one answers our calls in their published contact numbers and they do not reply to our emails and support tickets. Therefore, we were not able to obtain the EPP Authorization Code needed to transfer our domain registration. Thus, we were left with no other option but to register a new domain name www.mcloanpro.biz with another Registrar so as not to further impede our business flow. However, this resulted in losing our former page ranking, blog entries, registered members and database. Not to mention the pain we had to go through and the price we paid (yes, particularly the price!) to restore our website.
Philhosting.net need not be reminded that Registrars are contractually required by ICANN to provide the EPP Authorization Code to the domain name Registrant upon request. Failure to comply could result in ICANN de-accreditation.
Our domain registration with them for www.mcloanpro.com is still active. However, we are no longer interested with Philhosting.net's intolerable bad service.
We are reserving our right to file criminal and civil charges against Philhosting.net who defrauded us by accepting payment for a service that they could not deliver. In the internet vernacular, SCAMMERS!

  1. My boyfriend and I also made a bad decision. Bought domain and hosting from them. I think it took them almost a month to activate my domain and they have the worst customer service too. And then they'd easily send us our bill--the hell!

They even refuse to give support for those who bought domains from them but would use a third party hosting service. Too bad for my friends.

  3. I can totally attest to this horrible experience with Philhosting. I can't access my website either even though I paid for the domain name already. It's difficult to contact them and their number is only ringing but no one is picking up the phone. same thing goes for the email support service. What a waste of money!!!

I'm transferring our domain as soon as i get the auth code from. That is, if i should be so lucky enough to actually get through their phone line. Because of this really bad experience with them, i will also blog about them a soon as i transfer. They've put me through so much inconvenience, I want to just go to their office and give them a piece of my mind. PHILHOSTING SUCKS!!!!!

  9. I was also a victim from this company. I am very frustrated and disappointed with their slow and unrespecting people. I've been having trouble with my hosting and domain since it was activated so I expressed my frustration and instead of apologizing, they suspended my site for 48 hours and it lasted more than 90+ hours. Also their servers are too slow and really bad. I hope our complains reach the top management people of Philhosting!

    1. Hi forHISglory,

Too bad! Although I don't think complaints submitted to the management will make the trashy service of Philhosting.net any better. Every dissatisfied client tried that in vain attempt to get the service they have paid for but to no avail! 2 options: Either take them to court or just transfer to a reliable web host. The latter, sadly, is what many of us "victims" choose.

Thanks for your comment, to warn others. In this way, at least we do our little part :)
